How dog friendly is Freo?

I have a job offer, but coming from overseas I'd have to or want to bring my dog.Basically would need a house with a garden, or farm and would like to know how easy it is to go on walks etc. sine we are used to walk off leash and be able to run in the woods.Any info appreciated!Cheers!

Freo has a couple dog beaches where dogs can run loose but it is suburbia - no woods or farms. Dogs walked on leashes around streets and roads are no problem.
