Garfield Park isn't the safest neighborhood in my opinion. You're near Midway, and that's just a dangerous area in general. Certainly avoid the area directly around the airport, but be careful in general too.

I would avoid the areas around the airport. Other than that the rest of Garfield Ridge is relatively safe.
