Possibly looking to relocate

Georgetown, QLD 4871 is located within the Etheridge local government area, part of the Far North Region in Queensland.

I also saw part of the Seachange Treechange program featuring Georgetown which looked and sounded great. I have been having a bit of a look on the internet about Georgetown and can only find tourist information. I was wondering about schools, employment and real estate as well as the relocation costs.

The program was called Seachange Treechange on channel 7 yesterday morning at 10.30. I only saw a small part of it - the part about Georgetown, but it also included Cairns as well. Just about people doing a seachange or a treechange in that part of Queensland.

Yep, that's the one I saw too. I called the Etheridge Shire and apparently they do pay for your relocation bill. They reckon that if you work with the shire, you can earn enough to live on, save and pay off a house. Kinda sounds too good to be true... Why would they be paying to get people to move there? What are they hiding? Lol.
