a great selection of homes friendly neighbors and although no shops in the suburb you are not too far from Plumpton marketplace and MT Druitt CBD as well as the M7

in General a great quiet suburb and with the climate of Sydney property market a great bang for your buck

"Family Oriented Suburb"

Very family friendly, quiet and peaceful area located next to Quakers Hill. Easy access to M7 and Richmond Road. Choices of restaurants and food outlets are limited but major chains Red Rooster, Subway and Hungry Jacks are located in Glendenning itself and McDonalds, KFC and Dominos within a km or so. Plumpton Inn & Hotel located in Glendenning (go figure) offers a nice restaurant and a place to stay if travelling through. Plenty of shopping outlets such as Woolworths and Big W close by. Glendenning Public School is quality, my kids thoroughly enjoyed attending there in their primary school days and Wyndham College/Nirimba Education Precinct is only 5 minutes away. Quakers Hill High School another few minutes drive. Lots of lovely parks dotted throughout the area, as is Western Sydney Parklands with its walking and bike tracks and Joe McAleer Oval, the home of Blacktown’s Sydney First Grade competition cricket club. I’ve lived for 10 years raising my kids here; after living in Greystanes among other places this is the happiest safest place I’ve lived in. Lots of long term residents here who feel similarly, young and old alike.

"Quiet neighbourhood near to motorways and green space"

Glendenning is a wonderful place to live. Very quiet, but with easy access to motorways and reasonable public transport. Western Sydney Parklands are a short walk away. Crime is virtually nonexistent.

"Boring and stagnant"

Very boring place to live.
No cafes or restaurants nearby.
Unfriendly, loud neighbours. Only few works full time, others live on their government payments. You can hear very loud family arguments in the neighbourhood joining so many dogs barking.
If you're looking for a peaceful environment, with quality professional people, this place is a no.

Interesting take, your opinion of the area. Your unfriendly, loud neighbours have obviously affected your opinion but I hate to tell you this, you literally could live anywhere and end up with unfriendly, loud neighbours. You seemingly havent discovered Cafe Cherry Beans or Gloria Jeans in the immediate area. The working professionals (including myself), skilled workers and blue collar neighbours in my street and vicinity dont want or need government payments as youve described them. Its obviously not the area for you, maybe an area like Sydney itself would be less boring.

"Lovely Suburb to raise a family"

Have been living here for the past 2 years and absolutely love this suburb. People are really friendly here and easy to get along. There are lots of child care centers and schools for our kids.
It is absolutely a really safe place to raise a family as most people here are working couples who have young kids.
The location is just the best with being central to some of the listing below:
- 2 minute drive to M7
- From M7 can join to M4
- From M7 can join to M2
- Drive to city takes 30 mins off peak using motorway
- Lots of shopping options at Marsden Park
- 8 minute drive to Blacktown town centre
- 7 minute drive to Quakers Hill
- 15 Minute drive to Rouse Hill (With motorway even lesser)
- Lots of fast food centres
- Medical center and shop
-Large Pet Shop within 1 km

The resale value is also great in this suburb and the value of property has been raising at 13% pa compared to neighboring at 10%. Rental market is also fairly good with returns.

So in total, a really worthy suburb to buy/invest in. You would never regret buying here.

"Lots of young families, close to main roads"

Pro's:
- A lot of young families, some retirees. Nice and quiet.
- Wide roads, on-street parking
- Parks every couple of blocks
- Close to M7 for easy access to the city

Con's:
- Doesn't look like we'll be getting NBN for a number of years, we're not even on the map yet
- Well, the only take-away options are Red Rooster or Hungry Jacks, be nice to be able to duck down the road for some Thai or something tha'ts not a fast food chain!

"A Hidden Gem near Blacktown!"

I have been living here for a few months and starting to love this suburb.
Really peaceful and friendly neighbourhood. The crime rate for Blacktown has reduced overall and Glendenning a part of Blacktown council will probably fall right down the bottom of the crime rate list. Western Sydney has changed a lot in the last few years and everyone is loving it here.

The public transport is great where there are buses to Blacktown in frequent intervals and then there are fast trains from Blacktown to city. Best part of this suburb is the close proximity of the motorways. M7 is really closeby which leads to M2 to get to city and M4 to get to Parramatta/Inner west suburbs and airport. There is also a beautiful Glendenning Oval ground which has got kids play area and also a few parks too.
There are a few schools to chose from including the catholic private school. Choice of daycare is also in abundance here, so you will never feel running out of choice. The daycares are great too.
There is also Hungry jacks, two service stations and a complex full of shops with pharmacy in it.
I lived in Wentworthville area before which wasnt the right mix of ppl, but over here we can find ppl from different race and culture who are really friendly.
So, in total a great suburb for families and young couples. You wont go wrong here!
And last but not the least it is much affordable than Quakers hill where the prices are insane.

"Great family feel"

Been in the suburb for 6 months n love the area n the feel that is given out. We live in a quiet little street where everyone talks to each other and looks out for each others house. The kids play with neighboring kids which is great to see and brings back memories when I was young. Great place to bring up a family

"A good first home buyers area"

I tend to think of Glendenning as a first home buyer, young families area. I bought my first house there, as it seemed a nicer area than the surrounding suburbs, yet is cheaper than sought after Quakers Hill. I've had no trouble whilst living there, although I tend to think once I have enough money i would like to move onto a better area.
It is a short drive to Quakers Hill train station (5 mins) and there are numerous buses that circulate the Glendenning area.
There is a medical centre and chemist. Service station. Hungry Jacks and Red Rooster. Subway and a pet food store, all within Glendenning. There are 2 primary schools and child care facilities. A hair dresser and multiple parks.
All in all, not a bad start and a decent area to consider.

"A great spot"

Close to shops, schools and bus. Small parks are well kept and there are ovals and tennis courts. A beautiful leafy suburb only a short drive from Blacktown.
I recommend this suburb to all, well, that's if you can get a house there, they sell so quick as it's such a nice place to live no-one wants to move.
A real family atmosphere.
