Does the XPT connect to Sydney and how long does it take?

Hi @m-rc,
Yes, the XPT connects to Sydney. It is quite a slow journey by train (compared to car) as the rail line snakes around Cootamundra at a very slow pace. It leaves twice daily, and takes around 7 hours. The bus service can be just as reliable, if not faster.
Happily, the rail journey to Melbourne is much better, and currently being upgraded. The Vline service runs Albury-Melbourne at least 4 times per day and takes 3 hours (it is currently being upgraded). The XPT also runs between Albury-Melbourne but is old, rattly, stinky, and slow.
