Once in a lifetime... Wairere Homestead's gardens were designed and built by Edna Walling, one of Australia's most influential landscape gardeners. Wairere Homestead was the first country garden designed and built by Edna Walling. Commissioned by Major and Mrs Rutledge in 1925 to surround Wairere Homestead, Edna lived on the property, during the 3 months of garden construction.
