"A country town with good attractions"
lived there a few years back. nice town with friendly residents. Good place to raise a family. Gets busy in snow season, but that is one of the bonuses of the place. beauty countryside to drive around. Nice wineries to visit.
Melbourne is not too far away for when you need a dose of big-city life for a weekend.

"Beautiful spot."
I love mansfield, its a beautiful spot at the doorstep to the victorian high country and mt buller snow fields. In my opinion, anyone can get a job anywhere as long as you're willing to look for it, and work hard! Great little town full of history and not to far from large towns such as benella & wangaratta.

"Beautiful little town!"
I have visited many times and found the place to be absolutly beautiful. Just a short drive to the snow and heaps of out door activitys what more could you want. Very quiet town a part from tourist season when it can get a bit hecktick down the main street. I luv it the people, food and winerys! Great place to holiday and im sure an even better place to live! a small pice of paridise.

"A medium-small community ideal for retirees."
I lived here for around 6 years obtaining employment with a well known holiday resort on the shores of Lake Eildon. I lived in and out of town and found the amount of younger people not working or even willing to work a little disturbing. I guess that happens everywhere! Loved living on site as caretaker at the resort but 5 years of being on call 24/7 was enough. For most part it's a nice little town but overall a little boring for teenagers or younger couples.

i live in Melbourne. i am now looking for a place to live away from all this hustle. i have three kids from 13- 8 they all like sport what can anyone suggest?
Hi Geezer, have to agree with you on the whol Gen Y laziness issue. They seem to have been brought up too pampered and protected and expect to get everything for nothing. The coming recession and tough financial times are going to be a real shock to them when their parents have to start saying no to them and stop giving them money!
