The closest hospital is Brackenridge, which is basically the county hospital. It's 5-10 minutes from Hyde Park. Slightly further away is Seton, which is a lot nicer. It's ~10 minutes from Hyde Park. The health care system in Austin is excellent, in general. If you ever have major problems, MD Anderson is in Houston, and is world class.
