Houses are a bit more expensive than some areas in the hills but still cheap compared to the rest of Melbourne. I am always amazed that it is possible to buy a house with character on a beautiful garden block within an hour of Melbourne city so cheaply - the hills are the best value & most beautiful place to live in Melbourne imho
