Our daughter moved there with her partner.
They started in a Caravan Park in a cabin @ $750 a week. Eventually she landed a job @ Rio Tnto. Then she rented a 2 Bedroom house for the same and Rio Tinto subsided their rent for $500 and paid their electricity. Eventually after a year there she gained enough experience and got a job with Woodside permanent casual. After 12 mths they gave them a Woodside house for minimal rent.

You do need to be on the ground to get work here unless you are a FIFO. It is pain money as you probably know but if you are careful with the cash and invest it right you can set yourselves up for life. All the best with it.
