Keilor East is strategically positioned with a wealth of amenities nearby. I've lived in East Keilor for a long time now and couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

Something so important I've never had to think of until recently is how great it is having the fire station located on Milleara Road. They are the first responders and at your house in no time if you call 000 for emergency.

Love the choice of cafes now in the area too It's great!.

We purchased our property closer to Centreway side in the last year & we can't believe the value for money. We were able to secure our home on a good size block for $2-300k less than close neighbour Niddrie!.
This suburb has it all really. The vibe at Centreway is great and family friendly. The cafes are awesome and the local shops are handy including Dinah Pde shops if you don't want to head into the bigger shopping complex Milleara Mall. We have Aiport West Westfield closeby and Highpoint not far at all.
The close proximity to the freeway is so handy. I'm on the freeway in 2 mins and can get to the city in 10-15 mins most days. The parklands are beautiful and there are so many places to go for a nice walk. The area has a few schools and PEGS campus as well which is an A grade school obviously. Everyone is friendly in our street, very nice community feel. The local football club has just done a major re-development as well as the state of the art Leisure Centre just recently completed. There is a lot of development and knockdown rebuilds which is a great sign. Land is scarce. The only vacant blocks you will find is in Valley Lake Estate which is beautiful but once again rare and expensive to buy in. While prices have increased everywhere the past year, I still think Keilor East is awesome value when compared to close neighbours. We couldn't recommend this suburb enough.

Have lived in East Keilor for over 30 years. Really has all the great qualities of a suburb. Close to major freeways and into the city within 15/20 mins. Has a community vibe with lots of long time residents, and in recent years new families and professionals have moved in. If you're after information on the best spots, these include anything close to the Leisure Centre (Noga ave, Lincoln Dr, Paul ave etc) and also Rosehill Park side (Rachelle rd, Ellen ave, Ash grv etc). If you can't invest into those spots then next best area is behind Milleara Mall side.

Peaceful and progressive- Starter home family close to Essendon, Highpoint, Airport

East Keilor boasts a remarkable range of newly built homes & townhouses for those who want a freshly new home to live in.
Lots of families taking their kids for bike rides, walks with the dog, fitness enthusiasts and local take away conveniences and eateries here. Easy access to the local supermarkets.

This area, like Avondale Heights is a serene family-focused sanctuary hidden away from the pulsating city, locals are attracted by the peaceful community walking trails and bike paths which joins to and is an integral part of, Mariboynong river.

Our family has just moved to the suburb and we live near the local primary and high schools and leisure centre. The latter is being refurbished with a target 2021 reopening. Our street is a quiet, tree-lined street with little traffic and has a mix of retirees and young/established families.
I thought the plane noise would be an annoyance, but our home is not under the flight path and you don't hear much of the planes, surprisingly.
Milleara Road is busy with traffic for much of the day as many use it as a cut-through to access Highpoint and/or Avondale Heights from the Ring Road or vice versa. Quinn Grove and Rachelle Roads seem to have quite a bit of traffic too, and I guess that is from people avoiding the congested Milleara Road.
Centreway and Dinah Parade have a generous mix of medical clinics, cafes/dining, small grocery, and health and beauty establishments. The Milleara Road shopping centre is good for larger grocery shopping and smaller retail stores.
Public transport options aren't great with no local train station, but bus links are adequate. Car access to freeways and the Keilor Road precinct is easy.
NBN has recently become active in the area.
Coming from the billiard table flat western suburbs, I appreciate the undulating terrain of the area and the Steele Creek Trail is a pleasant walk among the trees. I've yet to explore it, but Brimbank Park looks much the same from what I've seen.
The Valley Lake district is a new estate in the old quarry and whilst the dwellings are more upmarket, and the area surrounding the lake is scenic, it lacks a vibe. Ideally, the display office needs to be converted into a café or similar to bring a little life to it.
I've not spent much time in the western part of the suburb or Pavilions estate.
Overall, I'm really happy with the area and it meets our family's needs very well.

My partner and I bought our first home here a couple of months ago and I have to say we are loving it! The housing is relatively affordable, shops and cafes are accessible and there is lots of green space. The landscape where we are is lovely - green and hilly and the houses are all generally well maintained. It is only about 12km from the city and has good freeway access for those who drive in. Frequent flyers will also appreciate the close proximity to the airport and ring road access is also good.

Keilor East is generally quieter than neighbouring Niddrie and Essendon, but it is only a short drive to these areas for their cafes, shopping and public transport. Larger shopping centres like Highpoint and Westfield Airport West are also a short drive away. I would say the suburb is mainly residential with a few little shopping areas, and lots of local schools, so is a great area for families.

Being an active person, I often see fellow residents out and about in the evenings walking and jogging. There are often kids out in parks making use of recreation space. It is close to the Maribyrnong River trail, which is a popular exercise spot on the weekend mornings. It really does have a nice community feel to it.

The only drawback is the lack of its own train station or tram line, however as mentioned above, it is close enough to drive to stations on the Craigieburn line or along the 59 tram line. Fingers crossed that the new airport rail link will include a station for Keilor East and Avondale Heights.

keilor east ticks all boxes. Closer proximity to the CBD and the Highpoint shopping centre. Short distance to essendon station. it has got some great schools and an abundance of parks.

Soon or later Keilor East will get the chain reaction reputation from Essendon, price will soar much higher. It's only 13km off CBD, close to Highpoint Mall, Airport & freeway entrance.
