Personally I would not like to stay in Kilburn area, not particularly "nice" area. It is a residential area. There are lots of fast food restaurants and pubs. Also a mix of ethnic cultures. I would not feel safe in the area at night and try to avoid driving through it, if I do I make sure my doors are locked.
