It is very livable, but trust me, find a place in Maroondah Shire and you will pay about a third of the rates we do here. Maroondah shire btw is only about 5 kilometers closer to the city from here and has all the livability features Kilsyth does (more according to many people I know)

Kilsyth offers great livability and a wide diversity in types of dwellings available. Have noticed knock down re-builds for family homes rather than units recently as families take advantage of the lower land values when compared to Croydon & closer in. There is some heathcare and schooling available in the area, but infrastructure is a little behind what is available elsewhere, with no train station & limited public transport. But if you drive, you are only 5 minutes to Croydon. GREAT SUBURB

Kilsyth is ranked down at 280 out of a possible 314 suburbs in Melbourne. Demographically it is mainly comprised of Aussies in their late 30s. It is a less affluent suburb where incomes are around $560 a week for a single. Rent costs around $275 a week but a mortgage is around $1600 a month.putting it out of reach of the average resident.
