Is Kingscliff a friendly place for retirees? What activities are available?

We are 71 and 75 yr old retirees and are thinking of moving to the area. We have a daughter at Coolangatta and another currently at northern end of Gold Coast who will be commuting interstate for work via GC Airport. We were seriously considering Paradise Point are now thinking of southern end. What is Kingscliff like for seniors to meet other seniors? Are there activities where we could meet others. We enjoy walking our pug dog and often find this can lead to a casual hello. I like to go to aqua robins and Pilates, is Kingscliff more friendly than Casurina which is a newer suburb. I would love to hear some personal stories of any other seniors who have moved to the area not knowing anybody.
