I am looking to buy a family home in Kingston (May 2019)

I'd love to hear some up to date reviews on the suburb for children (grade 5 and 7) and professionals who work in the city looking for a better lifestyle. I have heard mixed reviews of crime, low socio-economic living and interacial issues, together with information about groups of people housed in houses (back packer style). Is this correct?

I forgot to mention in my last comment - make sure that you get a good building and pest inspection before you buy, we passed on a few because some home owners have made modifications that are not up to standard. Especially when they have built a room under a colonial when it is below the natural level of the ground - beware of drainage issues.

Hey Rachl, we have lived in Kingston since 2012 and before that Slacks Creek (3 years) and Logan Central (2 years). Kingston is the best by far due to the infrastructure close by, access to train/ buses and Pacific Motorway / Logan Motorway. We are across from Kingston Primary School and haven't had any trouble other than a few dodgy neighbours and nosey kids because our house isn't fully fenced. There are lots of interracial couples including us. If you are concerned about crime and security, get a place that is fully fenced and get a dog, even a small one will deter trouble. Good Luck!
