Is there really bad traffic getting into the city from here ?

There is traffic during peak hour but there are multiple ways of getting into the city. Walking, catching the ferry, driving by car, catching a train or bus. If you walk (or cycle) you'll avoid traffic and be in the city in 20 minutes. You're only 2-3 kms away.
