I think La Veta is tryin to amp it up as far as tourism but I'll agree with BroncoFan, La Veta is not what I would think of as touristy...to remote and off beaten path (so perfect)

While there is plenty to do around La Veta, such as the Sand Dunes, hiking, fishing, and camping, I wouldn't consider it to be real touristy. There are a few B&B's but the town population is only 800, so it's pretty small.
