Lucky Pie is one of the most popular new restaurants in Downtown Old Louisville. This place is always packed during the summer and their pizza is great! Located right next to the Sweet Cow, you can enjoy the warm weather and great service on their patio or lawn! The Old Louisville Inn is not new, but they do have a brand new chef that has really changed things up there. The portions here are awesome and the beer is great too! Try the Front Street Burger you will not be disappointing.
I really like La Revolucion on Main Street in Louisville. They have an amazing happy hour, and the waitstaff is very nice. The seating is limited unless the weather is nice. They have great outdoor seating, too!
Bob's Diner, not new, but great St. Louis hamburger and a good selection of sandwiches. Very good food at a reasonable price. Our boys loved their sweet potatoe fries. For breakfast, we like the Huckelberry, they also have a good selection of sandwiches at a fair price for lunch.
Parma is a new restaurant along McCaslin (near Home Depot). It touts itself as a mozzarella bar, but if that isn't your thing don't let it deter you. My husband and I enjoyed the ravioli di zucca and the gorgonzola polenta. Fantastic Italian food!
We went to Via Toscana last night. Hadn't been in awhile since they did the addition. Excellent food. We were a group of 9 and got good service. I had the Rodney Strong Cabernet and it was good. Shared the beet salad with my Wife and a big thumbs up. Chicken Parm--excellent. And a Canoli to top it off :)
Kid friendly and vegetarian friendly. We'll go back again.
Our daughters always push for 3 Margaritas.
Love, Love the Thai food at Busaba. Great service, really affordable with good sized portions and the food is always VERY consistent and delicious. My favorite is the pineapple curry and my husband always orders the drunken noodles. Decent wine/cocktail list too.
Oh, and Casa Alegre on Pine for good food & Spanish conversation....
We enjoy the Huckleberry on the corner of Main & Pine -- great food and service, with old-town style! http://www.thehuckleberry.com
My favorite is still the Blue Parrot. Totally old-school,, spaghetti with fat homemade noodles and Italian bread with butter. But it's been owned by the same family for nearly 100 years, it's great for families, and there's a full bar. What's not to love?
I know its not really a new restaurant in Louisville but I really like Waterloo--great little bar/restaurant. Perfect for a date:)
My personal favorite is The Empire Lounge and Restaurant. Excellent food - I recommend the tuna burger (but I'm a fan of tuna anyway).
