Reviews of MacKinnon Parade, North Adelaide
"A perfect spot for family, right on the parklands"
Lovely and leafy Mackinnon Parade is situated right next to the Torrens on the edge on North Adelaide. It looks out across the Uniloop sports fields, and so is a great spot for sports enthusiastics. There are frequent sports matches held here, and there is a 2.2 kilometre jogging track which you can easily extend by detouring along the Torrens.
The homes here are grand townhouses, with the occasional apartment block or uni style accommodation. Some of the older homes are being demolished to make way for more modern properties. The old Uni Gym is still on Mackinnon Parade, but is a bit of an eyesore. I'm sure that plans are underway to demolish it and rebuild as well.
There are lots of cafés, pubs and restaurants in the area, as well as good corner stores (such as The Store).
Whilst in a peaceful parkland location, one problem suffered by residents here is the some of the noise levels emanating from the zoo - the howling of the monkeys can be quite an abrupt wake up call on Sunday mornings!
