The things to watch for in Malabar are the Sydney Water treatment plant (you can often smell it still from some areas closer to it), the bus routes, Long Bay jail and the housing commission just past it. The best street IMHO is Prince Edward - but the half that overlooks Randwick Golf Course. It has some stunning houses, is quieter, is away from all the above, and has some spectacular views. It's almost entirely renovated. If you follow that area round to Bilga Crescent the part closest to Prince Henry is also great (and the side-streets leading off too), but across the dip it rapidly drops off as you approach Long Bay. Bay Parade is really nice, but is quite busy and has frequent buses.Victoria St past Raglan, Adams Ave, Nix Ave are good too. Zions is the best of all streets in Malabar though. Because I live on it ;) Sea views start from around the intersection with Nix
