Bike Shops

I know there are a few cyclists that post on these forums... which bike shops do you frequent? I have a bike that I've been meaning to put back together for quite a while now, and winter is the best time to do it. Or at least I hear it is; supposedly a tune up is about half the price during colder months for understandable reasons.

My favorite/local is 85th street and Lexington Avenue. They're always friendly and help pump air into my tires - I'm hopeless at doing it!

I'm not a bike rider, yet. But when I get one, I think I will check out the website above, just in case, so I will know where to go for help wityh my bike.

Thanks for the post, Uptowngirl.

For all you Brooklyners, there is a bike shop on Lorimer right across the street from Pete's. It doesn't have a name on it, but the guy sells really cool, fixed-up bikes for 150 bucks. He is sort of an underground hero because he's honest and reasonable and his tune -ups are quick and dirt cheap.
