Taxi strikes

What does everybody think about the taxi strikes in the city. Drivers claim they are not happy about the new GPS/Multi media systems being installed in the cars.

I havent seen the new systems, but I hear drivers are concerned about being "trackable" now that GPS is installed.

Why would they care if they are trackable? And why would someone want to track them in the first place?

Looks like the GPS was a good idea after all - apparently by lying and using Westchester fares, cabbies have been balking consumers out of four million dollars! Thats why...

@Uptowngirl and @Ajadedidealist: I think it is normal for cabbies in large cities to take advantage of their fares. They get paid so little to start with. So they do what they can when they can, without getting caught, or at least they try not to get caught.

I like how the article mentioned that the cabbies return diamonds and wallets, etc. Where are these cabbies? Because I've never had anything returned to me. No matter how worthless it would be to them or how many times I tried calling.
