Airport noise - under the flight path? Any general comments?

I used to live in Dickson street. The airplanes are very noise but they don't pass very often. It doesn't really bother you on the day-to-day, but if you're watching TV in the night you will need to high the volume while the airplane is over the house, this is a bit annoying. Other than that, it's not a big deal as per today (Jan/2014) they still close Sydney Airport between 12am and 5am.
