Hi Fleeting,

How did you go with the car alarm? Did it finally stop? I've had the same problem a few times in my area, and it is incredibly annoying when it happens.

Hi AJ,
Yeah it finally stopped - not sure how, though. I wonder what recourse is available to residents when incidents like these happen? Call the police? Smash the car?

hehehe...while I cannot endorse smashing a car with a rampant alarm at 1:35am, I can recommend calling the Police. I'm sure how much they could though?

May be they can slap a mandatory visit from RACV. Wishful thinking...

That would actually be a good idea. I think all car alarms should be hooked up to phones as well, so if your car alarm is going off, you should get a phone call. Make sure you wake up and stop the car alarm!

I fraking hate it when that shiz happens!!! daytime it's not sooo bad .. but night time!! KILL ME :( I wish there was a law stating that if it is past 10pm or something and goes on for more than 10 mins or something then the public has the right to disable it with any means possible, provided there is proof of it blaring (that way, i can't smash any car and say 'the alarm was going off for 11 mins).

Sif anyone cares about a car alarm these days .. like 'OMG! alarm! theif!!!! lets nab them and pull a citizens-arrest on their arse'. ... sif....

That sounds incredibly frustrating! The constant car alarm can be a real nuisance. Have you considered contacting the local authorities or a pilot to address the issue? Perhaps they can help locate the car owner or advise on the situation.
