Any recommendations for low budget housing - one at Monash Clayton, another a YUP looking for work?

Melbourne, VIC 3004 is located within the Melbourne local government area, part of the Melbourne (Greater) Region in Victoria.

We would want to be close to a train station where the YUP can get to the CBD easily, because I'm guessing that most jobs for YUPs are near the CBD. I (the student) could either cycle to Monash or use public transport.
We would like a 2 bedroom unit, if possible, for max $1500 a month.
We prefer quiet, friendly neighbourhoods.
