Is Munno Para West a safe place to live?

We are looking at buying in Munno Para West, I have never lived that side of the city. I'm wondering if it's safe etc?? As I've heard of some stuff that has made me a bit uneasy. Buying a house is a big step and just want to be sure. Thanks.
