Yes there is a centrally located train station that goes through to Adelaide. Train timetables you will be able to find at http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&ved=0CBAQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.greatsouthernrail.com.au%2Ffares_and_timetables%2Ftimetables%2Fthe_overland_timetables%2F&ei=s6YHVYiyIcHz8gXJxoC4AQ&usg=AFQjCNGJpo9w1gCsYFtDZm3Devxo5RJ3GQ&sig2=AF09L1XpCchNpHKsqA91Pg
Yes now I understand what your asking. I am unsure but I don"t believe there is. Only bus options to Adelaide. There used to be a service by train to Adelaide and return years ago as I once used it but it was a 3-1/2 trip each way. I don"t think there is a train service like this from Murray Bridge and return. Sorry.
We are not in a high risk area for bushfires but we have had some fires on the outer edges of the town from time to time in Summer but definately nothing that would threaten the town in any major way. As for flooding there would be a small risk at the rivers edge should there ever be a major swelling of the river but this has only occurred about twice in 60 years and would only affect a property near the rivers edge. The majority of the town is well above the river line. I hope this helps.
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question Bogg, I appreciate it! I was aware of the Overland as we have been through Murray Bridge on that train. Unfortunately you can't just go away for a day and come back on that train so I was wondering if there was a train station not too far to drive to that could take you in the morning and you come back of an evening? Or at the very least the next day?
