Yes you can commute there from Adelaide. There is a bus service called LinkSA, it leaves in the morning and returns at night. But if you want to save money, I would drive to Mount Barker and then catch the bus into Adelaide, works out cheaper. Also it's a quite place to live, peaceful and the scenery by the water is beautiful.
