Is the area around 37th Street and 2nd Avenue noisy/loud (i.e. people, traffic, etc)?

I am thinking about moving into the neighborhood, but I am curious about the neighborhood as it related to noise. I am concerned about the noise from the tunnel, and the hospital but I haven't really experienced it. Otherwise I really love the neighborhood.
