LOCAL HELP/ADVICE WANTED GOSFORD/WOY WOY/NTH AVOCA AREAS

Hi locals, need some local advise and help from anyone living nr these areas. We are currently living in sydney and have a run down old house high side of nth avoca....question to my local friends out there..whether to keep the old house only 2 br and very steep block, or look at selling and buying in other areas. I like Koolewong, or Saratoga....Koolewong as it represents good value by the water views and has a train station, and saratoga seems to be a handy location as well.....I will be possibly working in gosford and husband until he finds a job would have to take the train to sydney from gosford....i like schools like st john baptists in woy woy, gosford public school and green point christian school or gosford high but i spose travelling to them in the future for my 2 little tiny ones would be available a number of ways......is it dead for teenages in koolewong and the like whereby there is completely nothing for them to do???, or a nice safe environment to bring up kids...is terrigal worth staying near to provide for the children when older - more things to do??? any advice or help from local who know what they are talking about would be wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!

First things first Manly,
Nth Avoca is one of the most popular spots on the CCoast. Better to hang on for a year or two i reckon as prices are on the rise. Koolewong has had a reputation as an ordinary area by locals but sydney siders dont mind it. The train noise is a bit overpowering. Saratoga is a good area but takes forever to get to because it is on the eastern side of the lake.

Secondly,
Commute to sydney? The train line is 20-25mins from Nth Avoca and Saratoga, but there is a ferry from Saratoga to woy woy for the train, and of course Koolewong is on the train line.

Thirdly,
Saratoga and Koolewong? Not a lot for the kids to do but Nth Avoca is only 10 mins from Erina Fair shopping centre, and you have the beach in summer so Nth avoca is the best for the kids.

Fourthly,
I went to Gosford Selective high and its not a bad school and scores pretty high on the my schools website. Also there is St Eddies at Est Gosford and CCoast Grammar school.

My recommendation? Stay at Nth Avoca! Choice position, kids have something to do, close to everything and private at the same time. Also the capital growth will fund your retirement no troubles at all. Build a new home, it may cost a bit with the site costs but well worth it!

I hope this helped!
