Bloomberg is Changing the Rules

Has anyone read this story yet:

http://www.ny1.com/content/top_stories/131811/bloomberg-calls-for-changes-to-city-hiring-practices

I wonder what kind of changes are going to take place. Will it make it easier for New Yorkers to find jobs? Is this strictly for hiring employees for city jobs?

@hhusted I don't think Bloomberg for all his good intentions will succeed. City employees tend to think that their job is for life and the unions are bound to resist the hire and fire policy.

I agree. I strongly suspect that many heads will roll. Eventually, when election time comes up for mayor, he will lose out to another opponent.

@Uptowngirl: Yeah. I wish they could impeach Bloomberg. But I doubt if that will happen. Bloomberg is here to stay, at least for another three years.
