I can't remember what thread the record speak came up, so I'm just starting a new one. There is an oldies record store on Carmine and Bleecker! They have pretty much everything through the '80's!

I think a lot of people have turntables. At least, all the people I know seem to have at least one that works and one that they found on the street that they've been meaning to get repaired.

@NeverSleeps; Yeah, and someone told me record players were going to be outdated and replaced by mp3. I guess whoever said that was wrong, at least for now.

Stanton makes a record player that will rip your records into MP3 format. And, @hhusted, let's face it: MP3s and like files have virtually replaces all other forms of music sales. Even deejays use MP3s these days, along with their vinyls.

@BroadwayBK Do you know what the quality is like on those MP3s ripped from that turntable? I'd be curious to know...

@BroadwayBK that sounds like a cool device.. didn't know Deejay's had switched to MP3's thought they liked turntables for their scratching abilities.:) but then its been years since I saw the inside of a club.
