Subway Station Elevator Gets Stuck

I read on NY1 today that an elevator at the 168th stop in Washington Heights got stuck. Five people ended being hospitalized, mainly due to excess heat. This brings a good point.

How many of you use elevators at subway stations? I rarely use them. The last time I did, the elevator smelled horrible. I couldn't wait to get out of it.

Even though the case involving the stuck elevator was an isolated incident, I wonder if this could turn into a trend.

That's horrible! I feel like most subway elevator users are probably elderly or disabled or people with strollers? To me, that makes the story even worse . . .

Yes. When I see people go into elevators, sometimes I think if they will come out later. I thought it was just my imagination. But now I am beginning to wonder.

Well, I'm not afraid of elevators - I think that's a bit much - but I don't necessarily ENJOY cramped spaces. Although last time I was stuck in an elevator I'd just gotten a cheeseburger from my local diner to go - so I just sat down and had dinner until the doormen came...

@Ajadedidealist: Are you talking about the elevator at the subway station, the diner, or your apartment building? When I talked about elevators, I was mainly referring to those at subway stations, nowhere else.
