"Newcastle East: Surfing Working & Living for 50 years surfing working and living count as experience & knowledge."

Its about beach side and harbourside living, historic oldest place to live and enjoy the modern rebuilding, units predominate good freestanding houses with ocean views are rare the fact is not much land on the Nobbys promontory. Elevated housing offer whale, dolphin & bird watching as the migrating pods rest up. Great beach and healthy active lifestyle for increasing numbers of young families with 3 surf beaches and 6 board surf spots all within walking distance. Experienced surfers should try the Cowrie Hole. The Ocean Pool for a swim & a coffee. Fishermen & spear fishers have lots of great safe spots . Trails for walking jogging & bike riding. Cafes restaurants coffee spots everywhere all within a casual walk. Schools and university in the City. Library Art Galleries & Movie Theatre with trendy Darby St or Hunter St Mall offering shopping diversity. Jump on a train, Harbour to Harbour just 2.5 hrs to Australias largest and most expensive City of Sydney relax sip a coffee & look at the Hawkesbury waterways and sandstone cliffs.

Great for

  • Beaches, Unique enclave and suits a casual lifestyle
  • Walk bike ride or free bus or rail in the city
  • Cafes and nice eateries galore

Not great for

  • The entry cost to a large apartment, unit or old terrace is high
  • Council parking offices are aggressive, parking insufficient
  • West Newcastle area badly needs modernisation & investment
