Palmyra, WA 6157

Live living here. It’s so leafy and green with tall towering trees. I love that people are no longer knocking down the old houses but restoring them. Gives a country town feel to it

I have lived in Palmyra for around 6 to 7 years. I have just turned 12 and I love it here. It's not the biggest suburb, but I mean what is? It's a small area but that's the good thing about it! My primary school, Our Lady of Fatima, is a great primary school. It's small but really good for kids to interact with each other. I love all the teachers there they are all so nice! Really think of getting our kids to go there!!!

We moved to Pally earlier this year. I don’t think this suburb gets enough credit in comparison to others. Super close to beaches, river, city, freo and lots of nice parks. One of the more affordable suburbs in the area. Lots of young families and a lovely neighbourhood community.

I’ve noticed lots of renovations on the older houses and new builds going up which is great. The blocks tend to be small, but the location is what makes this suburb special. Definitely recommend!

A very friendly suburb with a relaxed vibe. Close to Freo and the beach with high frequency bus routes along Canning Hwy and Marmion St. Great public school in the centre of the suburb is the community hub. A private primary school is here as well and Palmyra is in the Melville High zone. Multiple child care centres in the suburb and many more in adjacent suburbs. Supermarkets on three of the four corners. A few cafes within the suburb and everything you need along the main streets bordering the suburb. A couple of pockets of public housing in the north-east and south-east corners. Lots of young kids, families, bikes and dogs. The suburb is constantly changing as houses are renovated and built with enough old homes that give the streets character. Lots of established eucalypts along the streets give it a green feel. Young professionals who are priced out of East Fremantle, Bicton and Attadale choose to raise their families here where it is nearby but more affordable. Depending where you live, the beach and Freo can be as little as a five minute drive or ten minute bike ride away and the river even closer.

We have lived in Palmyra for over 15 years. It is a great suburb for families, with the kids often running over to play with neighbours kids or go up to the local park, It is fairly quiet, and a leafy suburb, with quite of lot of the large gum trees and lots of parks. We made the effort to get to know our neighbours and all our local ones are great. The suburb is close to the river (Point Walter), the beach and freo. It is definitely not nightlife central, but freo or the city is not that far away and there are local coffee shops/restaurants . Trip to the city is normally 20 minutes, or can be up to 35-40 min in peak hour.

We have only been living here since April, although we have visted the suberb for years visiting friends. We totaly love Palmyra. We can walk to either Woolworths or Coles with our two kids. The school has a great farmers market on a Sunday creating a realaxed atmosphere and community spirit. There are loads of essential shops within walking distance if you are willing to cross the pedestrian lights at Canning highway. There are loads of great parks too. The blocks are not the grand 750sqm although I think peoples life styles have moved on from this and into more managable sized blocks. We are also not having 4-5 child families any more. Our internet service is FAST. There was no problem setting up internet TV! Our street does not have underground power yet although, in the future, Im sure it will. There are loads of trees and birds. And when friends come to visit they always mention how quiet it is. I go walking every day and people are always curtious. I love Palmyra and that fact that people grow their own vegie patches on the nature strip (verge). Really great to see. Close to Freo, public transport and river how could you go past it.

I have lived here around 3 years and love it. We are at the East Freo end, and have access to all the shops, cafes, facilities of Pally, Bicton, Freo and Melville. Better value than neighbouring suburbs.Some of the quaint cottages haven been bowled for units which is a shame, but you get that anywhere close to the city. Public transport good - direct to the city down Canning Highway.
