Is Parap May street , Broadbent street safe for young families?

Parap, NT 0820 is located within the Darwin local government area, part of the Darwin Region in Northern Territory.

We are looking to relocate and heard very mixed reviews such as a high crime rate ?? But when you drive around the area it looks beautiful ? Looking for some local knowledge :)

It depends. The Parap end of May St is ok and within Parap PS catchment. The other end falls into Ludmilla PS - best to look both schools up on the GoodSchools guide, their SES are very different.

That part of May St is also closer to Bagot Community (which used to house the infamous Retta Dixon home, flattened by Tracy). Also worthwhile checking out the stormflood map which will impact your insurance.

I have never heard that there was a particularly higher rate in Parap Grove and have never been told that it’s unsafe. I have friends who live there. It is a lovely area and I have always missed the opportunity to buy there.
