Looks nice on the outside, what about on the inside

Driving along Park Avenue down towards E36th Street, I though how great to live here. But even though it looks nice on the outside, I wondered what sought of living spaces existed behind the facades.

How big, small, noisy etc are the apartments, or is this a great area to live.

If you're going to live on Park, I'd recommend living on the north, not the south, end. Park Avenue South is mainly office buildings, whereas Park Avenue north of 59th has absolutely lovely (if pricey) apartments - doormen, supers, renovated Old World fixings (moldings, wood panels, fireplaces, etc). But I'm not sure about Park Ave South...

On my block, most of the apartments are very small, even though the price is high. I know one person who lives in a studio apartment, yet the apartment is registered as a one bedroom, so the landlord gets away with charging her one bedroom rates.
