Looking for a home in Picnic Point?

"good suburb"

From my place, it's only a 10-minute walk to the gorgeous Lambeth park boardwalk. The bus-route 923 can get you to Bankstown Shops in under 20 minutes and to Revesby train station in 5-10 minutes which is very convenient. Overall I've been living here all my life and there isn't much I can say bad!

"Beautiful quiet place perfect for families"

I've been living in Picnic Point for 6 years, and couldn't be happier with our choice. We live in Eileen Street, which is a lovely cul-de-sac where kids run around from one house to the next, play with their bikes and scooters in the summer, and kick the ball in the little reserve on the street. It's just like being a kid 30 years ago. It's also 3 minutes walk to a gorgeous cafe, and 5 minutes walk to Panania Public School which has been an amazing school for my kid. And 3 minutes walk away is the choice of 2 great childcare centres too. If you walk 10 minutes you are down the river and have access to a lovely board walk from Lambeth Reserve to Carinya Road, it's just beautiful, and you really feel like you are on holidays. And if you get the car you have everything in your doorstep within 3 minutes drive, from hairdressers, shops, mechanics, coles, woolies, gyms, skateparks, swimming pool, etc. There's also two choice of bus routes that take you to Bankstown. All in all a perfect place to live.

"Quiet Suburb close to the River."

Visited here many times. Friends live here.
Always seems like a good clean suburb.
Nice pizza shops in nearby suburb of PANANIA.
Traffic can get a little congested though.
Close to georges river for all you water sports freaks.

"Quality Lifestyle"

Picnic Point is a great place to live and raise your family, retire or starting out.

Overall the area is trouble free, quiet & peaceful, close to schools and most of all quality people reside in the area.

Great sense of community and you just have to visit an open house or an auction to realise it's popularity with young families.

25 - 35 Mins to Cronulla Beach

10 Mins to M5 Motorway & Straight to the Sydney CBD

What more can you ask for ?

"What a beautiful pleace of the world to live In"

My friends live in Picnic Point & im in love with it, it is very central to many areas around sydney as opposed to living in congested no proper train West Ryde, yuck. Picnic Point is very close to Hurstville & the Shire as well as Bankstown which i feel thats it is not what everyone says it is.

Me & my future wife are looking in the area of Picnic Point for next home to live in & sell out of West Ryde for conveniece, lifestyle, kids schools, airport and the leafy parks & river..

Highly Recomended without going all the out to the Shire

"Sleepy, safe and peaceful"

I grew up in Picnic Point.

Highlights:
- Wide, safe, leafy streets
- Close proximity to the bush and Georges River

Downsides:
- When Revesby and Bankstown are your best shopping options. You know you're in trouble.
- It's pretty remote, but if you like the suburbs and don't work in the city it's great.
- Picnic Point Chinese is terrible. Totally Westernised 'Choinese'. The owners are nice though.

"This is a great place to live if you like living in the suburb yet living in a holiday retreat"

I live on Henry Lawson Drive and it is great. I love the trees and the wild life bird when looking from my balcony over to the river. When it rains it is so lovely to see our Australian bush. The life style here in Picnic Point is like living in a holiday retreate every day.... Come and live here and we can have a bbq down the road. There are many parks to choose from.

How is it living close to the bush? We are thinking of moving to Picnic point and the house we have in mind is backed onto the bush. Are there many concerns with insects coming in the house offten? Mosquitos etc?

Good to live in for a young family and the nearby school is good. But hard to rent so not great for investors. Also parking is an issue especially around the school. The owner at 98 Kennedy Street puts out witches hats and chases away people who park at the front of his house.
