Moving to Gold Coast - high schools

Hi, I would like some advice from parents on what they think of the state high schools on the GC between Palm Beach and Paradise Point. I really like Merrimac, but am finding it hard to find suitable rental accommodation. Would appreciate any information on the state high school, good or bad.
