Paul and his team at McGrath Group have been nothing but impeccable for the years we have engaged them. From the immaculate and caring management of our rental property for over a decade, to when the time came to sell, the service and advice we have received has been second to none. The sale felt complicated by our relocation to NSW, so it wasn't a decision made without some anxiety, but I should not have feared in the slightest. We started with another rental management firm the first handful of years, who then transitioned to McGrath, so it feels like fate we ended up with this team. It was like chalk and cheese. The communication is amazing, issues were resolved seamlessly and their online management systems is a godsend. We were fortunate we had the same tenant the whole 13 years, but that pays testimony to the care they received from McGrath. Many a tenant has moved on because of a poor property manager, but even though we did change managers a handful of times it illustrates the culture of the business that we never had an issue with any, and that the tenant stayed on speaks volumes. But the true accolades come from the moment we decided it was time to sell. From the first phone call I knew we were in good hands. I flew over to see the place for the first in that 13 years, Paul met me and we went over what would be the best options to sell the unit to get best return on the investment. There were things I had in my head that Paul advised against because of his understanding of what buyers want, and then suggested things that were cheap inputs that had never crossed my mind. He handed me a folder with recent sales, talked frankly about price expectations, and suggested a subcontractor to contact to provide a quote - a suggestion that proved worth its weight in gold from price and then execution. There were a couple of items that needed the personal attention I wasn't able to provide from Sydney, Paul offered to take these on and I am so grateful for that. The property sold the first week on the market - for 100k more than we had in our mind when we set out to sell. It went on the market on a Wednesday and we signed the following Wednesday, after Paul weaved his magic to get the offer at the top of our range. As a first time seller, there was so much I didn't know nor understand about the process. Paul was always there, calling to check in, update and encourage - I never felt overwhelmed, which I did buying the place, and then again buying my current residence five years ago. He asked for and provided information and documentation in a way that made sense and prepared me for the next stage, not the piece meal, "Sign this", "Did you get that form?" "No, not yet [and then not providing a timeline on when]" way of past agents, dripped and drabbed over different days and different conversations. I can't express enough thanks to you Paul, for your guidance and attention to detail, plus a good laugh, while I whirled around like a dervish. If SA real estate is ever in my cards again you will be my first port of call.
