Wetherole is a nice street, and convenient to transportation. There are 500 shops and restaurants within walking distance as well. The streets are very safe to walk on at any time day or night. If you get hungry there are supermarkets within walking distance, and a large number of restaurants at all price levels. There is a bus to LaGuardia Airport on Queens Boulevard, and two subway lines that make it about a 20 minute trip into midtown. If you want a quiet walk, the Crescents are a lovely neighborhood of older 1 family homes about 4 blocks away. You can also walk to Forest Park or Flushing Meadow Park for a relaxing stroll or jog.
Rego Park is a predominantly ugly neighborhood with mostly Russians. To the north is a beautiful area that is great for picnics called Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. It is within walking distance from Queens boulevard and is a great place to take children. You can also walk or bike to quiet streets in the adjacent town of Forest Hills. In Forest Hills, you can visit many scenic houses on greenway Terrace and Slocum Crescent. You can also have a fun shopping spree on Austin Street, the downtown sector. I hope you enjoy your apartment😁😊
