C.W. Post University is a wonderful resource for the Locust Valley and Long Island Community. First, the obvious attraction, is the availability of the classes that are offered. What I enjoy are the concerts, lectures, theater and ballet at the Tilles Center on the CW Post Campus.

Additionally, CW Post offers an academic enrichment program for Gifted Youth. http://www.liu.edu/CWPost/Academics/Schools/CEIS/Resources/Gifted-Youth/Summer

The Center for Gifted Youth offers Saturday classes during the academic year and also offers a summer program, similar to the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Through this program, my children were exposed to college - level Biology course work when they were in 6th grade!

I live about 2 miles from CW Post. I pass it at least 5 times a week. There really are no negatives I can think of. The Tilles Center at Post offers a variety of different events such as concerts, speakers etc. There may be a bit of additional traffic at these times, but it is controlled well by a police presence and is very short in duration. There are also courses available to take even as a non matriculated student.
