Reviews of Seventh Avenue, Cheltenham

"A gorgeous place to live"

Seventh Avenue is just such a beautiful place to live. I think Jessamy sums it up completely but there is nothing more you can ask for, gorgeous houses, being improved all the time, people take pride in their homes, lots of young families, very family friendly, little traffic or noise, we even find the football not that bad. Close to public transport, not far to drive to the city, close to many shops including Port Adelaide, Semaphore, West Lakes, Arndale and Harbourtown and Glenelg are not far either. Walking distance to a public primary school or a private primary/high school. All of the neighbours are courteous, respectful and friendly.

We love it here.

"Not party town, but a great place for families"

If you are looking for raging nightlife, loud bands and thriving restaurant scene - this area is not for you. BUT if you have a young or teen family or are DINKS who prefer the quieter life, Cheltenham could be place place for you.

Seventh Ave is well away from main thorough fares- this is great because it means our street is quiet. We are located just up the road from Alberton Oval, so there is football traffic, but other than that - wonderful.

The train to the city is walking distance. If you get the express from Woodvile, you are only a 11 min train ride from the city. You are also only a 10 min drive from the beach (or you can catch a train there too!). There is a great IGA a 10 minute walk away, away well as chemist and post office. West Lakes Shopping Centre and Arndale are also 10 min drives away.

There are public and catholic schools close by. Childcare a 5 min drive away. The QEH is 10 min drive away.We are 10mins from Port Adelaide and once development has been completed, a whole new world of cafes and retail expereinces will be a be available to us (already happening).

The houses in the street a mix of bungalow style and villa style on gernally larish (700 -1000sqm) allotments. There are 2 small unit groups, but they are single story 'courtyard' type and well kept. Whilst there is not a 'canopy' of trees in the street scape, overall it is very pleasant and green.

People in this street care for their homes and there is quite a bit of renovating going on. I might add - good renos! People are condierate of each other in the street and noise levels are generally low. We are a mix of young families/teen families and older residents. A lovely variety.

If you are a keen Port Pwer fan - the club is well and truly within walking distance. Resttaurant/bar facilites available.

I love living here.
