Reviews of Shellharbour, NSW
"Shellharbour- A Beautiful Seaside Town"
Shellharbour is a beautiful seaside community located between Wollongong and Kiama. The village part has turned into a mini Kiama full of shops, historical buildings that have been restored, reastaurants, parkes with well maintained gardens, lovely beaches and asthetically pleasing homes. The shopping centre and City centre is amazing too and with the renovations being done to the shopping centre with Myres comming in it will only become even better. The new housing estates like Shell Cove, Blackbutt and Flinders are really attractive areas to live in.
I am very proud to live in the Shellharbour area and I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

"Everything is at your door"
I haved lived here for the last 10 years & we now have three young children. The lifestyle is so easy,
I wouldnt want to live anywhere else!. We can walk to the beach, or to any one of the many great restaraunts Shellharbour village has to offer, the pub / golf club / workers club also have great food & are family friendly. There are bike paths for family bike rides & several great parks with equiptment & bbq facilities. The village also has some great boutiques & specialty shops for browsing , while Stocklands is only a short drive away for more serious retail therapy. During holiday times it does get busier , but that is to be expected - If I didnt already live here I would want to come here on holidays too!

"Bogans!"
Left my van in the street on the way back to Melbourne, the bogans were eyeing it off. To many Bogans at the shopping centre also. First and last time. Take some happy pills people.
"Better for a day visit"
I bought into the village 6 years ago and was also disappointed. Beach is nice. Rough on weekends and holidays with crime and graffiti being the key issues. Rental value is low and resale value even lower. Shops at Shellharbour City aimed at lower class, don't expect a David Jones. Not many opportunities for children. Surrounded by ugly house estates and housing commision. Better for a day visit once a year than to live!

"Behind the times"
Bought a place in the village, such a disappointment. The shopping and restaurant quality is so poor in the village. The stocklands at the concrete jungle is pathetic if your into best n less and cheap shops with no quality it may be your thing. Investment return is very minimal. The workers club resembles a mess hall for dinner and an area just filled with poker machines. The catholic school check out my school website, my children never went on an excursion and were asked to take their own soap to school as the school couldn't afford it. On weekends and holidays it turns into campbelltown by the sea. A very low income area with Warilla being to close for comfort. No nightlife exists either and if you think the trip into wollongong is better, it's not.The best thing is Shellharbour Village place is a distant memory now

"Short visit recommended"
Typical coastal town, gets pretty rough on weekends and not a great place to bring up kids if you want them to make something of themselves. but nice scenery, better to visit than live.
Yep, all sorts out there! ...gotta be careful ''.
