"It's Technically Not Housing Commission...but it Kind of is"

Simpsons Rd is a beautiful rd...unless you are one of the unfortunates who unwittingly moves into the large townhouse complex which I'd better not name (there are three there but I can only comment on one so that should keep it somewhat anonymous). It's surrounded by bushland and native animals and is very peaceful - except when the neighbours are having violent domestics (with each other or with management) which is pretty much every day. Occasionally the police attend but most of the time they tend to ignore the calls because they're so frequent. These townhouses fill with mould when it rains and I'm amazed they haven't been inspected by council. They are a health hazard. Myself and several other neighbours have all had problems with management walking through our properties when we aren't home. I've now changed the locks and my neighbour said she saw them trying to enter and they couldn't the last time and they haven't said a word to me - guilty! My neighbour three doors down has been broken into three times in 7 months (not saying that's related to management though, they never stole anything from me to my knowledge). At least a third of the tenants here haven't had their bond banked with the rta so good luck to them getting that back when they leave and never EVER pay them cash rent/part rent and let them write you a receipt on a scrap of paper because they will lie and say they didn't receive it. I have seen that done to more than half the tenants here. The complex doesn't recycle so you will need to drive out to the tip if you want to do that yourself. There are no shops or restaurants within walking distance, everything is a 10 minute car drive away, which isn't too bad. If you have a bad rental history, are unemployed, have a drinking or drug problem and especially if you deal a bit on the side, you will fit in really well in this complex and love it here. But for all of the other people, don't let the nature and wildlife fool you into thinking it's wholesome place.
  • Peaceful bush setting with trees and native wildlife
  • Very shady management
  • Criminal and welfare ghetto
  • Mould infested townhouses

"Close to the beach but with a bush feel"

Since living on simpsons road for almost 5 years. I'm dissapointed to leave, shops are less than 3 kms the beach is only 5 mins away and yet it has that green feel, being surrounded by a stack of native flora and fauna. Its the only place I've lived where it's close to the food and retail but can still have a kangaroo or possums and koala's in the front yard.

"A Beautful Neck Of The Wood"

Having come from acreage, I was looking for a nice quiet place to live. Simpsons Road offers a bush setting and many of the homes on larger than normal blocks. Some of the homes have ocean views.
A great central location but far enough away from the hustle and bustle
