Reviews of South Gladstone, QLD
"South Gladstone - Blend of old and new"
Only 3 km to Gladstone CBD makes South Gladstone a very appealing.
The properties are generally older however along Ann Street you will notice a modern townhouse complex. The properties on the hill in South Gladstone will have a very good view over the water.
South Gladstone Primary School is very central and Toolooa High School is the closest High School and Goodstart Early Learning is on Toolooa Street.
Local shopping precinct offers Foodworks, Chemist and a fantastic Fish and Chip shop called "Swains". The Health Nut is also worth popping into if you are into natural food.

"Close to town"
We have been renting in South Gladstone for 15months. The neighbours are all quiet and even send out letters notifying us if they are having a party. Most houses are older but a few new town houses have been built. The older houses are on huge blocks but usually not very much garden because it is so dry here in the winter it is impossible to keep everything alive. I don't have children so unsure about the schools but there are a few close by. Apparently child care is really hard to get into.Public swimming pool, fitness trail, hockey, tennis courts, grocery store and Main Street all very close.
Lots of mozzies in the summer and there are sand flies in some other areas around Gladstone.
The marina here is great, Lots of boating and fishing. But to swim at the beach you best go to tannum.
Great for
- Close to town (walking distance)
- Fitness trail

Not great for
- Industry close by (lights up the sky at night)
- Smell from industry when windy
