The easiest way to answer this question is to ask where your starting point is - before you leave for the beach! Perth is a coastal city and there are many suburbs within 5-10 minutes of the many beaches. In some cases that might be walking across the road, if you can afford beach front property! As you head inland towards the main city and other suburbs you can expect to drive anywhere from 10 minutes to 60 mins and still be considered as living 'in Perth". The average Perth resident would consider a 20-30 minute drive to the beach acceptable. As a general guide it would take 60 minutes to get to the beach from Midland, 40 minutes from Morley, 20 minutes from Canningvale and 10 minutes from Joondalup. Of course, it depends which beach you are heading for and the traffic at that time of day!
