Yes, I recommend Zoo friends as well. If you have small children you can go weekly or as much as you like, under 4 is free. It is small enough that you can get around in a few hours, have a bite to eat and not feel too exhausted! I saw the suggestion about an 'open plains' type zoo being built too - that will be great and will also add something else to the Perth activities list.

I would recommend you become a Zoo Friends member. One off cost, unlimited entry all year :)

Perth Zoo is lovely. Over the last few years it has been upgraded. Now they are thinking that they might move it to bigger premises. Which will be much better for those bigger animals.
