Reviews of Stanley Street, North Adelaide
"A wide tree-lined street with lots of housing options"
Stanley Street is nestled in the heart of North Adelaide and runs parallel with Melbourne Street. It is just one street away from the sprawling parklands and playing fields between North Adelaide and Medindie.
The street has two very different characters. Lower Stanley Street, at the eastern end, offers lots of rental accommodation. There are rows and rows of old miners cottages, townhouses, quaint heritage buildings and the occasional orange brick home. This end is home to the very popular Kentish Arms pub (currently undergoing a refurbishment) and its beer garden with live music. This area has also had a major spurt of construction, with a number of executive townhouses being built over the last year.
Upper Stanley, at the western end, is home to some of Adelaide's most grand homes. With huge gardens and sweeping views across the city and the Adelaide Hills, these properties are tightly held and command enormous resale values. It is a beautiful stretch to wander through and just dream...
