Very tourist friendly town. Easy to get around and the streets are alwyas kept nice and clean.

Situated on Lake Bonney in the Riverland this is a quiet little town that is popular with visitors, especially in the summer.
There are some great little shops and a couple of supermarkets and petrol stations. The pub is one of the nicest country pubs you'll come across and the food is well worth it. There are also a number of other places to eat, be it sit down and enjoy or to grab some takeaway. Why not grab a bit of take away and sit by the lake?
The lake is a great lake for a swim or a bit of waterskiing, fishing or boating. If you’re a windsurfer there are some perfect days.
Nearby is some of the best fruit growing areas in the country so it’s fresh and delicious.
If you're looking for a place for some good country living this could be it. there is plenty of green open spaces that are well maintained

Reall Jen85? Not a very kind comment to make and makes you sound rather racist. Barmera and it's people have been lovely every time we've visited. The lake smells totally fine - fresh country air & lots of people swimming. We are looking to build in Barmera after our move to the Riverland and are excited to make it our new home!

The pub is full of drunken aboriginals, be careful when you leave or your bag might just get snatched!
The lake has an foul smell and is not a place anyone should swim!
The people hate tourists, if you are not born there you are not welcome there.
